How To Disable Windows Update in Windows 10

If you have upgraded your PC to Windows 10 and if you have limited broadband or data connection, then I am pretty sure that you are f**ked up the Windows Update settings in new Windows 10. As in Windows 10 there is no settings to disable Windows Update. In the previous version of Windows like 7/8 or 8.1 there was an option to disable Windows Update or you can manually download those Update files. But in Windows 10 there is no such option to disable or manually download Windows Update file. Mean whenever you will connect your PC to the internet it will start downloading those update files. You can just delay the installation process of those downloaded update files.

So how to stop or disable Windows Update in Windows 10. There are two ways to disable or stop downloading Windows Update in Windows 10. First one is a general method.

How To Disable Windows Update in Windows 10

1. Go to Control Panel>>All Control Panel Items>>Administrative Tools

2. You will get a list of different tools, just open “Services”

3. Search down “Windows Update” in the service list

4. Double click on “Windows Update” to open it

5. Now on Startup type drop down menu, select “Disabled”

6. Click on Apply, then Ok

7. Now restart your PC.

 

Your Windows Update service is disabled and it will not automatically download Windows Update files unless you enable. To enable it just select Automatic in startup type and then restart your PC.

If your connected to wifi then you can set your Wifi as metered connection, this feature for those limited data connections and reduce data usage.
