How To Fix Get Windows 10 Icon Not Showing To Reserve Windows 10

Microsoft has declared that if you are using a genuine Windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1 then you can avail the free Windows 10 upgrade till its launch on July 29, 2015 and by the time you can reserve your free Windows 10 copy. I have guided you how to book your free Windows 10 copy by reserving Windows 10 that is provided by Micosoft. But after following the step by step guide to book free Windows 10 many Windows 7 users face a problem including me. Problem is I have done all the steps to reserve Windows 10 on my Windows 7 like the service pack 1 for Windows 7 install and all the recommended update including the must KB3035583 update, but still no option appear or no icon appears in the notification task bar where I could click and book Windows 10.

This problem happens to many others who mailed me to fix this problem. After searching on the internet I have come through a fix which works perfectly. Yes! In spite you have installed the service pack 1 and the KB3035583 update on your Windows 7 and still no “”Get Windows 10” icon on the notification taskbar, then you need to apply this such that the icon appears in your system tray and you can grab the Windows 10.

How To Fix Get Windows 10 Icon Not Showing

Step 1: Download this file win10fix_full.zip

Step 2: Unzip the file

Step 3: Right click on “win10fix_full.bat” and select Run as administrator

Step 4: A command prompt will open and Press Any Key to continue until you see this

Step 5: Now you have to go through all the process by pressing 1,2,3 and 4 until the Get Windows 10 icon appears on the notification taskbar.

In my case when I press 3 or the Quick method #2 which launches the GWX task and refreshes the GWX config afterwards to appear the Get Windows 10 icon.
