Kali Linux 1.0.6 Launched With Emergency Self Destruction

A project that was started by Offensive Security with the name of BackTrack takes another name Kali. Yea Kali Linux is another growing penetration testing OS. Kali Linux OS is just rebuid of BackTrack. When Kali Linux first launched I was really amazed by its awesome feature. Though I loved BacTrack but I loved it very much as its more compact and advance. Now Offensive Security, the creator of BackTrack officially launched the next version of Kali Linux 1.0.6 with Emergency self destruction feature.

What is self destruction feature in Kali Linux 1.0.6?

This new Kali Linux 1.0.6 added self destruction feature. This is really a good feature if you lost your laptop, then you can keep your data safe. As nobody will be able to access to your data. This feature just encrypt your whole hard drive. That’s why when it boot up you need a password to decrypt.

Know how to update to Kali Linux 1.0.6?

If you are using Kali Linux then you can easily upgrade to version 1.0.6 by running these commands in the terminal

root@kali:~# apt-get update
root@kali:~# apt-get dist-upgrade
