Why Mobile Will Replace Desktop In Near Future

What makes you amazed? If I am not wrong then fast changing technology makes you more surprised than anything else. It all started first with the personalized computers. Whether it was a Mac or PC, people just loved this input output device. Another feature that attracted a lot was its display; visual output played a great psychological role there. While the changing technology still keeps us hooked, PCs have been replaced by smaller and more powerful hand-held devices. We are using slim mobile or smartphone instead of bulky desktop. We can reckon our mobile as a mini desktop as it has the same potential as a desktop or PC has. Starting from our multimedia tasks to playing high end games, we can perform all kinds of  jobs with our Mini computer or Smartphone.

With the fast changing times mobile phones also get more faster, powerful and slimmer. There was a time when 2GB RAM was considered more than enough in our PC or desktop, but now a Smartphone comes with the 2GB RAM and every mobile manufacturer devoted themselves to launch more & more powerful Smartphones than the previous models. But why? The reason is that Mobile or Smartphone has turned into a more attractive & utility device than a desktop. Now people can do only those things with the desktop which are not possible in Smartphone or it is quite difficult to do in Smartphone or mobile. Here we can see why Mobile is a winner in the fight of Mobile vs Desktop.

Multimedia Gadget: Besides making calls and SMS, a mobile can be used as a music player, digital camera, Gaming device, GPS device or a portable eBook reader and many more while desktop has own limitations.

Portability: As the name suggests a mobile phone is more portable than a desktop, we can easily carry a 5 or 5.5 inch mobile and perform all our jobs anywhere. Whether you are travelling by train or bus just put out your mobile and plays music or checks your emails and another thing is that a mobile device can be used for a decent time after full charge while in case of desktop you need a permanent power source.

Connectivity: Connecting to internet in mobile is much easier than a desktop. You can easily connect to the internet by either available public wifi or your data connectivity. But in the desktop, it does not come with inbuilt wifi or SIM slot.

Apps World: Apps has changed the way of doing things. Now for checking mails we don’t need to open website, just open mail apps and access your mails. Now accessing or performing a lot of tasks via Apps is easier than web portal, that’s why many forward looking companies are actively focusing on the app-only domain. For example, Myntra, an e-retailing giant, has read the trends and is aiming at exploiting the potential app market. In desktop, you can only have an app store for high version of Windows and Mac OS X like Windows 8 or higher.

So it’s quite evident that we don’t need a desktop anymore to do personalized stuffs. A smartphone or mobile can handle all these with lot more ease & hassle free, especially with the specified apps. It is expected that in the near future there will be more examples and initiatives like Myntra as mobiles are getting more powerful and cheaper.
