How to check your Windows 10 Laptop has free RAM slot or not

Recently I have upgraded the RAM of my Lenovo Ideapad 330 ADM Ryzen 5 Laptop and also published a hot to video on my YouTube channel. As usual, many viewers are asking me that they want to do on their Laptop having a different model and they don’t know whether their laptop has a free RAM Slot or not. As in my Lenovo IdeaPad 330 15ARRU model, there is only one free RAM slot available out of the box. The only way to check there is free RAM slot or not is by opening the Laptop, but here I am going to show you how to check if your Windows 10 Laptop has a free RAM slot or not.

There are some third party software like CPU-Z  that can help you to check how many numbers of RAM slot available in your laptop but if you are using Windows 10 Laptop then you don’t need to install a third party software. Windows 10 OS has that capability to check used or empty RAM slot in a Laptop.

So here is the easiest way to check empty RAM slot available or not.

  1. Open the task manager on your laptop by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc keys simultaneously
  2. If it is showing a small version of the Task Manager then click on the More details button to open the full version.
  3. Click on Performance Tab.
  4. Now click on Memory
  5. On Memory sub-tab you can check the RAM slot details on the right side. It shows the total number or available slot and out of that how many numbers of the slot has been used.

You can see in my Laptop its showing slot used 2 of 2 as recently I have upgraded my Laptop RAM by adding another 4GB Crucial DDR4 2400MHz laptop RAM. It also shows RAM frequency and forms factor so that if you are planning to upgraded RAM for better performance even if you are PUGB fan and want to play PUGB smoothly on your Laptop. PUBG is trending in these days, but still many are facing issue with low-end PC. Here is the time to install PUBG PC lite on low-end configuration.
