How To Root OnePlus 2 [100% Working]

The Flagship killer OnePlus 2 recently launched on giant eCommerce site Amazon. Still, many people are out of reach of this phone due to the limitation of the invite. OnePlus 2 is successor of OnePlus One which still a great phone. Now if you own a OnePlus 2 and you want root your OnePlus 2 to get root access on your OnePlus 2 then you are at perfect place. Today I am going to tell you how to root OnePlus 2. Rooting process always varies from device to device, but before we proceed to root OnePlus 2 make sure you know properly about the pros and cons of rooting and make a backup of your files. Just do a Google and know about rooting android device better.

Rooting OnePlus 2 is very a long process so sit back and relax and read the whole article before doing any steps. Here is a roadmap to root OnePlus 2.

How To Root OnePlus 2 [100% Working]

NOTE: Backup all your files like photos, video, mp3 including contacts, SMS etc to your computer as unlocking the OnePlus 2 Bootloader will completely wipe/delete all files on the device in step B.

A. Download tools

Download OnePlus2 ToolBox.zip

Download Oneplus+2+TWRP+Recovery.zip

Download UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip

Download 15 seconds ADB Installer (9.1 MB)

B. Driver Installation on OnePlus 2

Unzip OnePlus2 ToolBox.zip

Install OnePlus_USB_Drivers_Setup.exe. Now restart your PC, then connect your OnePlus 2 to PC and it will recognize automatically.

C. Install ADB on Your PC

  1.  Run the adb-setup-1.3.exe file, now you will see a command prompt
  2. Just type and hit enter to all the prompts until you get All done like this1

Once it’s properly installed the windows will automatically close.

D. Enable USB debugging and OEM Unlocking

  1. Go to Settings > About phone, and then tap ‘Build number’ 7 times or until you get the message ‘You’re now a developer!’.
  2. Go back to Settings, choose ‘Developer options’. Find the ‘USB debugging’ option and enable it.
  3.  In the ‘Developer Option’ you will also find the ‘OEM Unlocking’ option, just enable it. It will ask for your PIN/Screen unlock code to enable it.

E.  Unlock Your Bootloader

  1. Connect your OnePlus 2 to your PC via USB cable
  2. Once you connect to PC, you will get a pop up on your OnePlus 2
  3. Just tick the “Always allow from this computer ” check box and tap OK3
  4. Open any folder in your PC
  5. Inside the folder, hold “Shift” Key then right click and select “Open command Windows here”root-lenovo-k3_1
  6. Power off your phone then boot into fastboot mode  by pressing the power + volume up simultaneously.
  7. Connect your phone to your PC via USB cable.
  8. Now in command prompt type and hit enter

    fastboot devices

  9. If everything fine it will show your device serial number like this otherwise install adb drivers4
  10. Now type this command and hit enter

    fastboot oem unlock

  11. It will take some time to unlock, during this process neither touch your phone nor your PC.5
  12. The Phone will boot up in a new screen, just choose Yes by using Volume Key for navigation and power button to select
  13. Now the phone will reboot automatically
  14. Disconnect your Phone from PC

F. Check Bootloader Unlocked or not

  1. Power off your phone then boot into fastboot mode by pressing the Power + Volume up simultaneously.
  2. Connect your phone to your PC via USB cable.
  3. Now in command prompt type

    fastboot oem device-info

  4. It will show show like this with true tag6

G. How To Install TWRP Recovery On OnePlus 2 and Flash SuperSu.zip

  1. Enable USB debugging of your OnePlus 2
  2. Transfer UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip from your PC to Phone
  3. Power off your phone then boot into fastboot mode by pressing the Power + Volume up simultaneously
  4. Connect your phone to your PC via USB cable.
  5. Unzip Oneplus+2+TWRP+Recovery.ZIP file in your PC
  6. Open Oneplus+2+TWRP+Recovery folder
  7. Rename the Oneplus+2+TWRP+Recovery.img file to this name: op2-twrp.img
  8. Inside this(Oneplus+2+TWRP+Recovery) folder, hold “Shift” Key then right click and select “Open command Windows here” to open the command prompt
  9. Again, check whether fastboot is working or not by typing this command and hit enter

    fastboot devices

  10. It will return some serials mean its ok! We can proceed
  11. Now type this command and hit enter to flash TWRP recovery

    fastboot flash recovery op2-twrp.img

  12. Once the process has completed unplug the device and don’t switch it on
  13. Now Press and hold POWER + VOL down button simultaneously until the device boots. When the OnePlus logo shows up, release the Power and keep holding down VOL DOWN until TWRP boots.
  14. Tap on Install

  15. Browse and select UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zipOnePlus 2 TWRP
  16. Swipe to confirm the flash
  17. Once done do Wipe Dalvik & Cache then tap on Reboot System To RestartScreenshot_2015-08-19-15-09-00
  18. Your OnePlus 2 is now rooted.
  19. To check whether OnePlus 2 has root access or not, just go to Google Play Store and install Root Checker and run it.

So you now have the rooted OnePlus 2 or the root access on your OnePlus 2. So go and enjoy root pre-village on your OnePlus 2.
