How to Root OnePlus 5T [100% Working]

The dual camera sensation continues with the smartphone in 2017 but the new sensation for 2018 is 18:9 aspect ratio bezel-less display. OnePlus 5T is the example of this new upgrade version of OnePlus 5 carries with the new sensation of 2018. So if you are having OnePlus 5T then here is the way to root it. Rooting OnePlus 5T is more or less same but in this article, I have mentioned all the steps periodically like how to unlock the bootloader of OnePlus 5T then install TWRP recovery and flash magisk zip. So do follow those steps and root your OnePlus 5T.

How to Root OnePlus 5T [100% Working]

NOTE: Backup all your data as this process will format your phone memory. This method is for Nougat or Android 7 version

A. Download files

  1. Platform Tools
  2. TWRP  recovery
  3. Magisk Zip file

B. File Preparation in PC

  1. Unzip platform-tools-latest-windows.Zip you will get  platform-tools folder
  2. Now rename twrp-3.1.1-x_blu_spark_v8.55-op5_op5t.img to twrp.img
  3. Now put the twrp.img file inside the platform-tools folder

C. Phone Preparation

  1. Enable Android debugging by going to Settings > About phone and tapping on “Build number” 7 times
  2. Go to Settings > Developer options and check “Android debugging
  3. Again, go into Developer Options and enable bootloader unlocking

D. Unlock Bootloader on OnePlus 5T

  1. Make sure your phone is switched on then hold the power button few seconds
  2. You will get two option Power off and Reboot, tap on Reboot
  3. Again you will see three option just tap on Bootloader 
  4. OnePlus 5T will boot into fastboot mode
  5. Connect your Phone to PC via USB Type-C cable
  6. Open the “platform-tools” folder
  7. Inside the folder, hold “Shift” Key then right click and select “Open command Windows here”
  8. The Command prompt will open
  9. Now on the command prompt, type this and hit enter.

  10. If everything ok, it will show list of devices attached with some Alphanumeric character like this. If its not showing then install the driver again and restart your PC.root lenovo k3_2
  11. Now type type this command and hit enter to unlock the bootloader of OnePlus 5T

  12. Now you will see two option on your OnePlus 5T, Yes or No
  13. Use Volume Up and Down key to highlight  Yes and then press Power button to execute Unlock Bootloader OnePlus 5T
  14. OnePlus 5T will boot into system by formatting everything like factory reset
  15. Now you have unlocked the bootloader of OnePlus 5T

E. Install TWRP Recovery and Root OnePlus 5T

  1. Disconnect your phone from PC
  2. Switch off your device completely
  3. Hold the Volume Up and Power button together for few seconds
  4. It will boot into fastboot mode
  5. Again connect to phone to PC via USB Type-C cable
  6. Open the “platform-tools” folder
  7. Inside the folder, hold “Shift” Key then right click and select “Open command Windows here”
  8. It will open command prompt
  9. Type this command and hit enter (Make sure twrp.img file is in platform-tools folder)

  10. Once the flashing done you need to boot into TWRP Recovery mode
  11. So use Vol Up or Down on your phone to navigate Recovery then press Power buttonFlash TWRP OnePlus5T
  12. Phone will boot into TWRP Recovery mode, once you see the TWRP just swipe to allow modification
  13. Now copy paste the Magisk zip file from your PC to internal memory of PC
  14. Tap on install on the home screen of TWRP menu,
  15. Browse the Magisk zip file and swipe to flash Magisk zip file
  16. Once the flashing has done, go to the main menu of TWRP then tap on Reboot>> System
  17. OnePlus 5T will boot into system and set up your device
  18. To check whether you OnePlus 5T has root access or not, just go to Google play store first install Magisk Manager and then install Root Checker and run it.
