Purchasing anything is not an easy job now when you have lots of options and this makes me crazy when I plan to purchase anything whether its a small AA rechargeable batteries or a Laptop. Recently I have purchased a Laptop and it’s Lenovo IdeaPad 330 15ARR U model. In this article, I am going to share my honest opinion about this Lenovo Ideapad 330 Laptop.
The background behind this purchase
From last seven or eight years, I had been using my Sony Vaio laptop which had gone through ups and downs of life. From gaming to blogging I had used it as much I can. I also installed hackintosh on it. But recently it was not working properly and I have left no stone unturned to use it. So I planned for an upgrade or replacement. At the beginning, I was planning for a desktop. But I don’t want to invest much. On the meantime, Flipkart was offering a great deal on Laptop Exchange. As Sony Vaio was not usable for So I planned for exchange to save some money.
This Lenovo IdeaPad 330 15ARR U cost 36K at Flipkart and I opted the Exchange with my existing Sony VAIO i5 which saves me 7K. At Payment mode, I used my HDFC Credit card that saves 1.2K with No cost EMI for 6 Months. Mean I was walking on the profit side.
Finally My honest opinion about Lenovo Ideapad 330
I am not a very good reviewer so I will make it short, First here are the highlighted specs
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2500U ( Quad Core)
RAM: 4GB 2400 MHz
ROM: 1 TB 5400RPM ( No SSD)
Display: 15.6 inches Full HD (1920*1080)
OS: Windows 10 Home Preloaded
Speakes: Dual Speakers
USB Port: 2 USB 3.0 , 1 USB 3.0 Type C
Battery: 2 cell but comes with fast-charging
Now lets come to my opinion about this laptop and why I have purchased it.
First of all, performance is my main concern so I choose AMD Ryzen 5 Laptop as it has four cores. I could have opted Intel i5 8th generation Laptop but those model were out of the budget. Another plus point AMD Ryzen 5 comes with Radeon Vega 8 integrated GPU which I will miss in Intel i5 8th generation CPU. In terms of benchmark result, AMD Ryzen 5 2500U is better than Intel i5 8th generation CPU without any graphics card.
I want to here mention that Radeon Vega 8 uses the physical RAM here in my laptop its 4GB so in future, I have the option to get better GPU performance just by upgrading the RAM as a free RAM slot available.
This Lenovo Ideapad 330 15ARR U comes with 1TB hard disk and no SSD as well as no optical drive which is quite obsolete these days. I have an option to use the Optical drive tray space and the free SATA port to add an SSD for upgrade purpose.
The display of this laptop is not that much vibrant and great but its decent for multimedia purpose as it is FULL HD at this price full HD display is a great thing.
Looks and build
Last the build quality, though its 15.6-inch laptop but its slim and weight 2.2kg the whole body of this laptop is made out of plastic and it has a metallic finish which looks impressive and eye-catching. The laptop display led rotate up to 180 degrees, cool feature for your eye adjust.
The keyboard is not very tactile, if you type too much then I would suggest using an external keyboard. The power button comes under the keyboard at the right corner which makes the laptop design neat and clean. The touchpad as usual same as other laptops at this price range.
There are no vents for hot air outlet on the right or left or even in the back, but you will see vents on the bottom of the laptop. So I would suggest you keep the laptop on table flat hard surface else if you keep on bed use a laptop cooling pad. The laptop does not heat up very much in normal usage.
First of all, they could have added another USB port on the right side. Only two USB ports is not sufficient. I use my USB type C OTG to plug in another USB stuff. Second, the build quality is next to the downside. If you are searching for a laptop at a ₹35K budget then this the best choice for you.
